About

Argent Ventures is a vertically-integrated, diversified real estate investment and development firm specializing in opportunistic, and value-add transactions throughout the United States.

Founded in 1997 and headquartered in New York City, Argent Ventures pursues debt- and equity-related investments in any asset class. Since its inception, Argent has purchased over $3.0 billion in real estate assets and debt instruments in major markets in the United States and Europe.

Argent Ventures’ earliest investments were in non-performing real estate loans in major US markets.  Argent’s principals developed a track record of identifying and unlocking untapped value in distressed properties. Working with various institutional capital partners, Argent developed a reputation for quick and efficient transactions and a focus on special situations and complicated debt work-outs.

Highlights:

  • In the late 1990’s, Argent was an early mover in the data-center industry and developed a successful portfolio of data centers in the US and Europe.
  • Argent was also an early investor in the life sciences sector and acquired the laboratory and office park that would eventually become the world headquarters of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals.
  • In 2007, Argent strengthened its reputation for investing in special situations with
the acquisition of the fee position of New York’s Grand Central Terminal. With this transaction, Argent became one of the largest holders of developable air-rights in Manhattan.
  • Beginning in 2013, Argent expanded its land development portfolio with a special focus on strong residential markets in transit-oriented locations in the greater New York metro market. Argent currently owns land entitled for over 4,000 residential units across multiple projects.
  • In the mid to late ‘90s and then again after the GFC, Argent was an active acquirer of distressed debt, including debt secured by the Chrysler Building, One Park Avenue and Manhattan Mall, among others.
